An exquisite mid-Victorian amethyst and diamond pendant, c.1860, beautifully preserved in its original fitted case from the London jewellers Barker & Smith, Cornhill.

The pendant features a deep, richly coloured pear-shaped amethyst surrounded by a halo of bright old-cut diamonds, suspended from a round-cut amethyst surmount. The stones are mounted in silver and backed in gold — a classic 19th-century combination enhancing both contrast and brilliance.

This stunning piece embodies the refined elegance of the Victorian era and remains presented in its original red leather box, lined in cream velvet and silk. A rare survivor in exceptional condition.
