Antique 18ct Gold Mizpah Ring, Birmingham 1892
A beautifully preserved Victorian “Mizpah” ring, crafted in solid 18ct yellow gold and richly detailed with bold royal blue enamel lettering. The term Mizpah, meaning “The Lord watch between me and thee when we are absent one from another,” symbolised love, faith, and protection during times of separation — making these rings cherished sentimental tokens of the 19th century.
Fully hallmarked in Birmingham, 1892, this example showcases crisp, legible marks and retains its original deep blue enamel. The band’s generous width and domed profile give it an elegant yet substantial presence on the hand, typical of the high-quality craftsmanship of the late Victorian era.
