A rare and captivating Edwardian cluster ring, hallmarked Chester, 1911. Crafted in rich 18ct yellow gold, this ring centres a sparkling old-cut diamond held in a celestial starburst setting. This is encircled by a halo of six vivid rubies, with further diamond accents set into the ornate, tapering shoulders.
The rubies are "Verneuil" synthetics, a frequent and prestigious choice in fine Edwardian jewellery of this period, selected for their intense, uniform saturation. The ring is distinguished by its incredibly crisp Chester hallmarks and a beautifully low-profile, scalloped gallery. A significant collector's piece from the Coronation year of George V, offering a perfect blend of early 20th-century scientific innovation and traditional British craftsmanship.
