A handsome and well-preserved pair of antique cufflinks in 15ct yellow gold with a warm rose tone, dating to around 1900, each comprising two navette-shaped domed faces connected by a fine chain link. One face of each cufflink is set with a small turquoise cabochon at the centre, the other left plain — a quietly elegant asymmetry that was typical of quality Edwardian cufflink design. The torpedo form is beautifully proportioned, the domed surfaces polished to a high finish that shows the warm colour of 15ct gold at its best.
The 15ct gold standard was discontinued in the UK in 1932, making any piece carrying this mark at least a century old and lending the cufflinks an additional layer of period authenticity. Condition is excellent throughout, the turquoise stones bright and well-seated and the chains intact. A refined and wearable pair of antique gold cufflinks with strong Edwardian character.
