Edwardian Platinum Diamond Flower Pendant on Chain

An elegant Edwardian pendant of quiet, timeless charm, modelled as a stylised flower and crafted throughout in platinum — the metal the Edwardians prized for the way it let diamonds float almost invisibly against the skin. At its heart is a single old European-cut diamond, claw-set and full of the warm, softly glowing character that only a hand-cut stone of this age possesses, rising to a pair of rose-cut diamond leaves that give the design its delicate botanical form. The pendant hangs from its original fine platinum trace chain, fastened by a bolt-ring clasp with a small yellow-gold accent — a charming period detail, as platinum alone was too soft to hold a spring, so the goldsmiths of the day married the two metals for strength.

More than a century on, it remains a wonderfully wearable jewel — light, refined and easy to wear every day, with all the understated romance of the Belle Époque. A lovely example of early twentieth-century craftsmanship, complete and in excellent condition.
