A spectacular early Art Deco diamond plaque ring, c.1915-1920. This architectural piece features a rectangular face pavé-set with approximately 1.50ct – 1.80ct of shimmering Old Mine and Old European cut diamonds. The two central old-cut diamonds serve as the focal point, radiating the deep "fire" and character unique to antique hand-cut stones.
Crafted during the birth of the "white metal" revolution, the diamonds are set into a fine Platinum top (stamped 'PLAT') over a solid 18ct yellow gold gallery and band. The shoulders are further adorned with delicate diamond-set foliate details, a nod to the lingering naturalism of the Edwardian era. This is a formidable statement piece that bridges the gap between the refined elegance of the 1900s and the bold geometry of the Roaring Twenties.
