A classically proportioned vintage five stone diamond ring in 18ct yellow gold, hallmarked Birmingham c.1960, set with five round brilliant diamonds totalling 0.55 carats in white metal claw settings that graduate to a slightly larger centre stone. The five stone ring is one of the most enduring formats in fine jewellery — the linear row of diamonds offering a clean, uncluttered elegance that works as well as an engagement ring as it does a right-hand dress ring — and this example is a particularly well-made specimen of mid-century Birmingham goldsmithing.
The plain polished yellow gold shank carries full Birmingham hallmarks and the ring is a size P. Dimensions are 17mm x 5mm and condition is very good throughout. A versatile and wearable vintage diamond ring with timeless appeal.
